Developing Watershed Goals

The San Juan Watershed Group, Animas Watershed Partnership, and Mountain Studies Institute worked together to publish the EPA approved Lower Animas Watershed Based Plan in 2016, which provided a menu of projects that would address nutrient, bacteria, and sediment pollution in the Animas Watershed. Since 2016, the San Juan Watershed Group has implemented dozens of projects identified in the Lower Animas Watershed Based Plan (LAWBP). Building off the success and lessons learned from the LAWBP, the San Juan Watershed Group has been in the process of developing a watershed plan for the San Juan Watershed of New Mexico.
